Fractured Light

The Starlight was not always broken.

It once built cities, bound the Terranes together, and breathed life and magic into the land. But fear, greed, and the hunger for power shattered it, and the world has been fracturing ever since.

For generations, a fragment of the Light has lived beneath Verdant. When an attack threatens to place it in enemy hands, Avena Valehart makes a choice born of courage and desperation.

The Light answers by choosing her.

With the Starlight alive beneath her skin, Avena fears and resents the power she never wanted. Verdant demands the return of its Light. Other Terranes have spilled blood trying to possess it.

Avena must make a choice, and every path carries a cost she cannot yet see.

Accompanied by Lara and Ryn, the friends who refuse to let her carry this burden alone, Avena follows the Light’s pull across lands scarred by its absence. Yet she cannot escape the warning of a mysterious Vespera man surrounded by living shadows:

“The Starlight has left the land and chosen you instead.
You will not survive it.”

To restore Verdant’s fading magic and prevent the Terranes from descending into war, Avena must return the Light to the place where it first touched the world. But fractured magic offers no promise of a merciful ending. Returning the Starlight could reconnect the broken lands and restore what has been lost...

Or it could break everything forever.
